Raceway - An open area in an office partition used to house communication cabling and power.
Spine - The center section of a cubicle run.
Wing - The outer partition on a cubicle, located on the aisle.
Base Feed - A power in-feed for a cubicle run that attaches from the wall or floor into the bottom of the cubicle system.
Top Feed - A power in-feed for a cubicle run that attaches to the building power in the ceiling and runs down a power pole into the power system of the cubicles.
Belt Line - A raceway which runs directly above desk height to accommodate easy access to power and data.
In 1964, the Herman Miller Co. introduced a new line of office furniture called the Herman Miller Action Office, designed by Bob Propst. Thus, the cubicle was born.
