Find a Used Office Furniture Dealer

When budget is a real issue, this is the section for you. Generally, the option of selecting the finishes you want is waived by buying used office furniture.  However, the dealer will usually touch up, clean and repair parts within reason. Make sure whether or not this will be done before you purchase.  Also, warranty can be a real issue with used cubicles.  You'll save money this way, especially if you don't particularly care what the cubes look like or even if they match each other, but you won't get the same type of warranty on these systems, if you get any warranty at all.

Used office furniture prices vary greatly due to quality, appearance and such.  At lower price points, you can find basic workstations that are older, have some noticeable wear and tear, and might be from a lower quality manufacturer. Most dealers however, supply high quality used furniture. These will be top name-brands such as (Steelcase, Haworth, Herman Miller, Knoll, Teknion, etc), and will generally be in good to very good condition. Some dealers will also clean, re-upholster or replace components to make the used cubicles look "almost new", thereby upgrading the furniture closer to "refurbished" status.   The biggest challenge in buying used office furniture is finding products in the sizes, colors, and quantities you need.

One approach to hitting your budget is to purchase certain items for your office new and others used.  While task chairs for your cubicles may be best purchased new, you may decide to purchase used office meeting chairs for your conference room.  By incorporating new and used furniture items, you can get more now and upgrade later.
